Conducted numeral successful Tai Chi workshops in North America,
Korea, Japan and Singapore, Master Chen Bin, from Chen Village
in China and a direct descendant of the Chen style Tai Chi creator,
will come to Houston this year to conduct a workshop on Tai Chi
application in self-defense. Master Chen is a three-time National
Push-Hand Champion from China, He has won many international Tai Chi
competition Gold Medal, and head of Tai Chi coach at the University
of Shanghai for many years before he returned to Chen Village, the
origin of Chen style Tai Chi. The workshop provides an excellent
opportunity for local Tai Chi practitioners to learn and improve
their skills in the beautiful Chinese art of Tai Chi, which was
created by Master Chen Bin’s ancestor more than 400 years ago. In
addition to its many health benefits, practice of Tai Chi also
increases one’s self-defense capabilities, as will be demonstrated
and practiced in the workshop. Since all major styles are derived
from the original Chen family Tai Chi, the application principles
presented in this workshop apply to all practitioners of different
styles, making it a perfect opportunity to enhance the understanding
of Tai Chi for everyone.
